Princess Cut

A modification of the earlier French Cut, the Princess Cut was created in the 1960’s and patented in 1971. It features a square shaped stone with 101 facets;  a pavilion of 64 facets, a girdle of 4 facets, and a crown with 33 facets (including the table).

Princess cut diamonds are the second only to the modern round brilliant cut in popularity. They are less expensive to cut and therefore can be had for more affordable prices.
